Can I file Forms 1099 for my business online?

Answer

Yes! Businesses can file Forms 1099 for free through a new IRS online portal called the Information Returns Intake System (IRIS.) According to the IRS, the IRIS is secure, accurate, and does not require special software.

IRIS will reduce paper and simplify the process for businesses. Also, IRIS will help individuals receive their forms in a timely manner.

Currently, IRIS is for tax forms for 2022 and later only.
