Question
What can I do to protect myself from phishing?
Answer
Phishing is when scammers use email or text messages to try to trick you into providing financial and personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) suggests these four ways to protect yourself from phishing:
1. Use security software that updates automatically on your computer.
2. Use security software that updates automatically on your cell phone.
3. Use multi-factor authentication on your accounts.
4. Back up the data on your computer and phone to the Cloud or an external hard drive.
