What is a CP14 Notice?

A CP14 Notice is a Notice of Tax Due and Demand for Payment. 

It is typically the first notice taxpayers receive from the IRS and the most common notice received. The notice states that tax is due, the amount, including interest and penalties, and how to pay. A CP14 Notice typically requests payment within 21 days. 

The IRS announced that CP14 Notices will be mailed at the end of May and early June.
