If I take the standard deduction on my 2022 tax return, will I still be able to deduct my charitable contributions?

Answer

For 2021 tax returns, taxpayers could deduct up to $300 (or $600 for married filing jointly) for charitable contributions, even if they took the standard deduction.

This is not the case for 2022 tax returns. Charitable contributions are only deductible if you itemize. They are not deductible if you take the standard deduction.
